Ashley Monroe

Ashley Monroe hails from America and is a country music singer/songwriter. Following the release of two singles and an album titled Satisfied in 2007 she formed an ensemble called Pistol Annies with Angaleena Presley and Miranda Lambert and released her 2nd album titled Like a Rose in 2013. Ashley Monroe has been in the public sector for more than 15 years, and spent five of those years as deputy city manager in Iowa City. The position she is in now the Village Manager's Assistant and holds a wide range of responsibilities which include managing the Community Development and Building Department and overseeing grants and special initiatives. In Riverside Ashley supports everyday operations of the village's services, while also taking on the strategic plan of elected officials and the residents. Ashley's previous positions included the planning of municipal services, public communications and budgeting. She also managed personnel and collective negotiation. Additionally, she was involved in actions to combat climate change. Ashley's work with national agencies and work within communities with various populations has provided her with insights into how organizations that are of any size function. Ashley's program concentrates on leadership, management and public administration from the point of view from a practitioner in the field. Her emphasis on ethical and strategic decision-making that adapts to current issues and opportunities and navigating interactions between the community and government provides context for aspiring and working professionals within public organizations.
